Novak Djokovic Bio

A versatile player, Novak Djokovic has won four Grand Slam titles, including three in a superlative 2011 season that saw him capture 10 tournament titles overall, post an ATP-best 70-6 record and seize the No. 1 ranking. In winning the 2008 Australian Open, he became the first player besides Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal to win a major since 2005, when Marat Safin won the Australian Open. Djokovic finished 2011 collecting an ATP record $12,619, 803 in prize money, surpassing the previous record of $10.1 million earned by Rafael Nadal in 2010 and Roger Federer in 2007. His parents, Srdjan and Dijana, are often a vocal presence in his player’s box. With their help, the family purchased the Las Vegas tournament from the ATP and created the Serbia Open, which Djokovic won in 2009 (its inaugural year). Djokovic’s brother, Marko, is also a pro player.
